Publishing your files is easy and fully automated. The only thing you have to do is to follow the instructions in this document and you are ready to go. All the files that you publish will be checked by our reviewers and they will approve or reject your file on a a few criteria that we will discuss later on. To get started we advise you to thoroughly read this document. After you have done so, you can start publishing your files. Publishing Your Files on Codeloaded
Codeloaded is a special MarketPlace with special files. In order to get your files published on Codeloaded your files need to match the following criteria:- Your file needs to be unique on our MarketPlace and useful to for our Buyers.
- Your file needs to constructed in the best way possible
- Your file needs to have all source included
- Your file can be complicated but if it is, it needs to have a help file
- Your file needs to be as aesthetic as possible. You know that a sale is made on what people see
- Your file needs to be yours ;)
- And last but not least; your file does not contain offensive content
Uploading a File
Uploading a File is easy. To upload a file, go to your "Dashboard" or to the "My Files" section of your account. On the bottom of these pages you will find the button "Upload a File". If you click on it the upload form will open.The upload form has quite a lot of fields for you to fill in. Every field has an "i" next it it. This is a rollover button with information on the specific field.
Title and Description
The title of your file can be max 50 characters long and it is not allowed to use words like "awesome", "greatest" and "best". The Title needs to represent your file as good as possible. The description of your file needs to be accurate and please be descriptive. You can offcourse provide some extra info on your file. HTML code is filtered and please do not enter links and email addresses as your file will be rejected.
Categories and Subcategories
In this section you will choose the category and subcategories of your file. Depending on your selection, the form will provide you with different fields so it is advisable to be as accurate as possible. For instance, if you have a website template which is a flash file, you need to choose "Themes and Templates" from the main category because your file is a template. If you have completed this section, the form will show you the correct options in the "File Details" section.
File Details
The fields in this section depend on the choices you made in the Category and Subcategories section of the form. Please select the values that best match your file. For some files you can choose to let us host the file. This saves bandwith ofcourse ;). If you choose to host the file yourself, the demo url must be valid. If not, you need to include a zip file with a working demo of your file. Please provide us with instructions on how to install or use your file.
File Uploads
In this section you upload your files and images. It is automated and images are resized. The thumb is resized to 118 x 74 and the large preview image is resized to 627 x 260. Your source file needs to be a zip file with all files included. Preferably it needs to have some form of documentation. Depend on the file type, a zip file with a working demo also needs to be included. You need to have flash installed to upload files.
Message to the Reviewer
In this field you can enter extra instructions, remarks or a pricing suggesting for our reviewers. Please note that if you enter a pricing suggestion, it needs to be a pricing which represents your file. To get an idea, just browse our files and find a file that matches your file and see the pricing. A simple background will be priced between $5 and $7. A well worked out wordpress theme with backend customization will be priced between $30 and $40 for a single license.
Save, Preview and Send for Approval
If you have completed the form, you can save your file. Once you have saved your file, it will be placed in the "My Files" section of your account. From there you can further edit your file. If you press the preview buttton, a preview will be generated. It is not the full preview yet, but you will get an idea on how the file will look. After this you can send your file for approval and your file will enter the approval process.
The Approval Process
Once you have sent your file for approval, it will enter the approval process. In this process the reviewer will check if your file is in working order and judges your file on quality and originality. Based on this judgement and your suggestions, the pricing for the file is set. To get an idea on the pricing of your file, just browse our files and find a file that matches your file and see the pricing. Also you can enter a suggestion in the message field. After this, the file will be published on our MarketPlace.If you do not agree on the pricing which is set for your file, you can send us a message via our support page. We always try to be as fair as possible when it comes to pricing. And sales volume is always better than a high price. Take a look at google ;).
If your file is published on our MarketPlace, you can still edit and update your file via the "My Files" section. For every change that you make, your file will need to eneter the approval process again. So if you have saved your changes, please make sure that you push the "Send for Approval" button again!
Tips & Tricks
Ofcourse you want get as many sales as possible. We have some tips for you on how to increase your sales. First your file should be original and as aesthetic as possible and the documentation of your file needs to be clear and easy to understand. Your buyers will not be as tech savy as you are. If everything is well, your buyers will post positive comments and give will give your file a high rating whichj will increase your sales. So please visit the comment section of your files on a regular basis.
The second thing you can do is featuring your file. If you feature your file, it will get a spot in the featured file section on our homepage and this will increase the traffic to your file. Featuring you file costs $5 for every time you feature your file. The featured file list is ordered by date. So if you feature your file and someone else features their file the next day, your file will move a spot. Featuring can be done in the "My Files" section of your account.
The third thing to do is post a link to your file on as many places as possible. For instance, you can share your file on facebook via the share link. This will increase the number of visitors to your file and the more visitors, the more sales you get.
Our top authors go to extreme lengths to get extra traffic to their files. Posting on forums, blogs, facebook, twitter and almost on a daily basis. One thing, do not spam your file as we do not want any complaints from our visitors.
