Getting Started

So you want to become an author on Codeloaded? That's quite easy, all you need to is follow these simple steps:

• First you need to become a member of our marketplace so Sign up
• Read this page very thoroughly.
• Read the the tutorial
• If you've done this you are ready to upload you first file.

You can find the "Upload File" button in "My DashBoard" and "My Files".

About Authoring

As said, the authoring process is relatively simple. As an author, you complete an upload form, taking care to prepare your files properly according to the upload instructions.
Then the file will be reviewed by our team. Because Codeloaded want's to be a special MarketPlace, your file needs to be quite outstanding and well designed. Of course your file needs to be working and needs to be uploaded to the correct category.
If your file is approved, Codeloaded will give it an appropriate price and the item will then appear on the MarketPlace.

If an item is not approved, we will provide some explanation on whether the item needs a small improvement to be accepted, or is not appropriate for sale on our MarketPlace. In both cases, you will receive an email to let you know.

The sale price of each file is decided during the review process, based on a number of factors. We price files to create a consistent pricing system on our MarketPlace as well as to maximize income for all parties concerned. If you disagree with the pricing of an approved item, you can always contact us.

Making Money

When your file is listed on our MarketPlace, you will receive a percentage of every sale. The commission right from the start is 60% and goes up all the way to 75% when your earnings increase. Your earnings are the total sum of your referral earnings and sales. Take a look at our commission table for sales to see to commission you can make.

Your earnings also depend on the licenses that you offer. You can offer a normal license and an extended license. The extended license is for buyers who want more than a single use of your file. The pricing for the extended license is usually 9 times your normal license.

You can sell you files on other marketplaces as long as pricing is not lower than the price listed on Codeloaded. Selling your files for a lower price on other marketplaces can result in the removal of your files.

Getting Paid

Each sale of one of your files will result in an increased earnings balance in your account. Also your Prepaid Credit Balance will increase. In this way you can spend your earnings on files on our MarketPlace.
You can also decide to do a Payment request. This can be done at any given time once your earnings balance reaches more than $50.00 and you have sufficient credits in your Prepaid Credit Balance.

Payment Requests are processed through PayPal, so you will need a PayPal account. If your earnings reach more than $500.00 you can also request a Bank Wire transfer. All Payments are processed within 4 working days.
Please note that your Prepaid Credit Balance is the sum of your deposits and earnings. You can only request a payment for earnings.

Rules & Guidelines

In order for an file to be accepted on our Marketplace it needs to follow the upload instructions and fulfill our quality standards. Every category has its own instructions. These can be found in the Upload Instructions section of the Wiki.
As a general guide, all files require:

• A thumbnail for the listing on our MarketPlace
• A preview of the file. This can be an url, swf, video or some preview images.
• A zip containing all the assets of your file. This zip also needs some help instructions.
• A title. Words like "incredible", "awesome" are not allowed.
• A Description. The description needs to be representing the file and cannot contain links.
• Tags. Important tags are automatically generated. You can add extra tags but they do need to represent the file

Our MarketPlace needs to stay special to our buyers. This is why we have some guidelines on which we approve your file. Our guidelines are:

• Your file needs to be unique on our MarketPlace and useful to for our Buyers.
• Your file needs to constructed in the best way possible
• Your file needs to have all source included
• Your file can be complicated but if it is, it needs to have a help file
• Your file needs to be as aesthetic as possible. You know that a sale is made on what people see
• Your file needs to be yours ;)
• And last but not least; your file does not contain offensive content
